Priyanka Chopra to Produce American Comedy Series About Madhuri Dixit’s Life for ABC

Priyanka Chopra is reportedly producing a comedy series about Madhuri Dixit’s life after moving to the United States.

Indian actor Priyanka Chopra, who has found a foothold in Hollywood, is reportedly producing a comedy series about the life of Bollywood dance diva Madhuri Dixit for US network ABC.

According to an exclusive report from Variety, the as yet untitled series is based on the real life of Madhuri, who will also executive produce the project.

The story would follow how Madhuri settles in the suburbs of the United States with her bicultural family and tries to bring her colorful lifestyle to an otherwise dull town.

In reality, Madhuri had taken a break from showbiz when she married Sriram Nene, who was based in the United States at the time and moved to Denver from Mumbai to start a family. The mother-of-two returned to showbiz about five years ago and continues to be one of the most charming beauties in the Hindi film industry.

Sri Rao, a writer for shows like General Hospital: Night Shift, will pen the pilot and executive produce the series, as will Madhuri’s husband.

Last month, Madhuri announced that something new and exciting was to be announced.

“Love downtime in the United States. Check back soon with announcements. In the meantime, enjoy, she tweeted.

Other names attached to the project include Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper through the Mark Gordon Company (MGC), while ABC Studios will co-produce the show with MGC, variety.com reports.

Priyanka is currently starring in the American show Quantico, which is entering its third season. Earlier this year, she made her Hollywood debut with Baywatch, and she’s now filming romantic comedy Isn’t It Romantic with Liam Hemsworth and drama A Kid Like Jake with Claire Danes.
