John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds’ fantasy comedy movie project gets new title and release date

A silent place director and staffr John Krasinski is set to lead Ryan Reynolds in an upcoming fantasy comedy for Paramount Pictures titled Whether. The film was originally announced with the title imaginary friends.

The film was previously scheduled to hit theaters on November 17, 2023, but it will now hit theaters on May 24, 2024.

The film’s story tells of a man “who can see and talk to people’s imaginary friends, befriending those who have been forgotten or rejected.” However, some imaginary friends, lacking love and friendship, turn to the dark side, and it’s up to Reynolds’ character to save the world from those who turn evil.”

I love this story concept, and it will be interesting to see how this story ends up unfolding. In addition to directing, Krasinski has also written and will also star in the film. Whether also stars Phoebe Waller Bridge (Flea bag, Indiana Jones 5), Cailey Fleming (The Walking Deadby Marvel Loki), Louis Gosset Jr. (Watchmen, the color purple), Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter, Killing Eve), Alan S. Kim (minari, Awkwafina is Nora from Queens), as well as Krasinski’s old one Office co-star Steve Carell.

It was also announced that the release of Paramount’s A silent place the prequel moved from September 22, 2023 to spring 2024. This film is titled A quiet place: first day, and it is led by Michael SarnoskI.
