Ice Cube leaves comedy film due to Covid-19 vax requirement

MUMBAI: American rapper-turned-actor O’Shea Jackson Sr, aka Ice Cube, has left Sony’s upcoming comedy “Oh Hell No”, in which he is said to co-star with Jack Black, after declining a request from producers to get vaccinated, ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ said, citing sources.

None of the parties involved, however, have made any comments confirming or denying the news. Ice Cube, which was reportedly listed for the film for $ 9 million, and Black teamed up with the project in June. Filming for the Sony film was set to begin this winter in Hawaii with Kitao Sakurai, the filmmaker behind Netflix’s breakout comedy “Bad Trip,” in the director’s seat.

Ice Cube’s decision is an expression of the retreat from the latest demand for the actors and the Hollywood crew commissioned in July. It has become a problem that threatens several projects. The producers of “Oh Hell No” demanded that the actors of the project be vaccinated.

“Oh Hell No”, according to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’, is the second project Ice Cube has left in recent months. He must have played in the boxing movie “Flint Strong”, but is no longer involved. We do not know what circumstances motivated the departure.
