Preview “Studio 666,” The Foo Fighters’ Ridiculous New Horror/Comedy Feature In Theaters February 25

If you lock yourself in a spooky haunted mansion to record an album, weird things happen. This is the story behind Workshop 666the new horror/comedy feature from and starring foo fighters.

The project was announced in early November with some teasing on social media, and now the full trailer for the movie has (finally) debuted. Be warned, this movie looks completely absurd, totally ridiculous, and endlessly entertaining. There’s plenty of Dave Grohl doing goofy facial expressions, serious odes to rock & roll, and more words you’ve never heard Pat Smear say out loud.

Here is its official synopsis:

In STUDIO 666, legendary rock band Foo Fighters move into an Encino mansion steeped in macabre rock and roll history to record their long-awaited 10th album. Once inside the house, Dave Grohl finds himself struggling with supernatural forces that threaten both the album’s completion and the band’s life.

Grohl elaborated further in a statement:

“After decades of ridiculous music videos and numerous music documentaries under our collective belt, it was finally time to take it to the next level…A feature-length horror comedy. Like most things Foo, STUDIO 666 started with a wacky idea that grew into something bigger than we ever imagined possible. Filmed in the same house where we recorded our last album “Medicine at Midnight” (I told you this place was haunted!), we wanted to recapture the classic magic of all our favorite rock and roll movies, but with a twist: Hilarious gore these fucking ROCKS. And now, with the help of Tom Ortenberg and the team at Open Road Films, we can finally pull this cat out of the bag after keeping it our best-kept secret for two years. Get ready to laugh, scream and headbang into your popcorn. STUDIO 666 will fuck you up.

Director BJ McDonnell said:

“STUDIO 666 is a perfect combination of everything I love. Rock, horror and comedy all come together in one very exciting movie. I’m so excited to have teamed up with the Foo Fighters to create a ‘Band’ movie at It’s been years since we’ve seen something like “Help!” by the Beatles, “Head” by the Monkees, or “KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park. Take this band film from the old 60s/70s school, mix it with horror and STUDIO 666 was born!I’m so thrilled that film and music audiences are coming together and enjoying our film.

Workshop 666 — its one-riff track on Studio 606, the Foo Fighters’ music space and recording studio in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley, hits theaters Feb. 25. To know more, visit its official website.
